Ransom is the mission and outreach program at Willows. Using numerous strategic partnerships, the active members of Ransom seek to proclaim and embody the Gospel of Jesus Christ so that all people can experience the spiritual and material abundance God wants to pour into our lives. Through volunteer efforts, financial support and intercessory prayer, we hope to serve as salt and light in a hurting and broken land.

Guiding Principles

Biblical - According to Jesus, the Bible is summed up in just two commandments. We are to love God in Worship and love others in Service. Matthew 22

Evangelical - The greatest service we can render other people is sharing with them the Gospel. The Gospel, which must be both embodied and proclaimed, includes not only the truth of God but also the love of God. Matthew 28

Comprehensive - Sharing the truth of God begins with winning people to the faith, including building them up as believers, and sending them out as missionaries. Sharing the love of God begins with rescuing people in need, including nurturing them toward personal sustainability, and deploying them as responsible citizens. Luke 4

Strategic - Jesus told his disciples to take the gospel of truth and love from Jerusalem to Judea, Samaria, then all the way to the ends of the earth. In submission to this command, Christians everywhere are called to have an influence on their world at a local, national, regional and global level. Acts 1

Ecumenical - Accomplishing broad geographic transformation requires working together with other champions of the gospel. Forming mutually beneficial partnerships between the local church and para-church organisations is an essential element in making disciples of all nations. John 17

Robust - Getting behind the work of our partner ministries means marshalling every resource at our disposal, including intercessory prayer, volunteer labour and financial giving. 2 Corinthians 8

Inclusive - Each follower of Jesus Christ belongs to the priesthood of believers. Hence, every member of the church is called to actively proclaim and embody the gospel through the provision of prayer, time and money according to God's call on his or her life. 1 Peter 2

"For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." -  Jesus (Mark 10:45, ESV Bible)
" Having, First, gained all you can, and, Secondly saved all you can, Then give all you can. " -  John Wesley, "The Use of Money" (1840)
